Summary about Konstantin Melnikov and history of Worm's Cathedral

Konstantin Melnikov (1890 – 1974) is a famous architect, painter and professor,one of the leaders of the avant-garde movement in Moscow. He attended the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture and completed his studies in 1917. After the 1917 Revolution, Melnikov established a new city plan for Moscow, consisting almost exclusively of worker's clubs within Moscow.

The Melnikov House, which is the house and studio of Konstantin S. Melnikov, is known world-wide for being one of the main symbols of the 20th century architecture. It was built during 1927-1929, and became the most successful architecture design experiment. Melnikov gained world-wide fame for the design of its original layout, elegant spatial arrangement and daring engineer techniques. ​​​​​​​​​​​​
